Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s About OBA

1. Is your school accredited?  OBA is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and is therefore fully recognized by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

2. Are your teachers certified?  OBA teachers are certified by the ACSI and must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college/university.

3. Do OBA graduates have success getting into college?  OBA students are typically highly recruited by most colleges.  OBA students perform very well on college entrance exams (ACT & SAT) and thus have a high success rate of getting into their college of choice.

4.  How can I get enrolled?  Before any student may be enrolled at OBA he/she must first complete all aspects of  the admission process and be accepted for admission.

5.   How do you decide who gets in and who be accepted?    The admission policy stresses the importance of admitting students from families who are strongly committed to the philosophy of the school.  Other considerations include class size, ability to meet student needs, and potential for an excellent partnership between home, church and school. After an applicant has completed the admissions process and interview, their acceptance will be reviewed by the headmaster and admissions committee.

6.  What is your Wait Pool and how is it managed?  Our wait pool is made up those applicants who have qualified for admission but there were no available spots.  Our wait pool is not a “list” with a position ranking (1,2,3) but rather a “pool” of applicants that are all reviewed should an opening become available.

7.    Do the students have to wear uniforms?  What is the dress code?  OBA does not require uniforms.  The goal of the dress code is to be neat, clean, appropriate and modest.  The details of dress code are addressed in the student handbook.  Generally the students are allowed a great deal of freedom and individuality with regard to dress code.

8.    What kind of activities do you offer?  OBA offers a wide range of activities entailing service, academics, sports, the arts, media center and social activities.

9.     Is church a requirement?  Because OBA is partnering Christian families, there is an expectation of regular church attendance.  The home, the church and the school form the training ground for whole person development to glorify God.

10.     If OBA affiliated with a particular church or a denomination?  OBA is an independent corporation operated by a Board of Directors.  OBA is an interdenominational school with over 40 different church congregations represented in the student body and faculty.

11.     Do parents get involved in the school?  Our Parent Service Organization and Moms in Prayer are an active part of the home and school partnership.  Parents are involved through these groups, and in other ways, as they exercise their gifts, talents and abilities to support teachers and students.

12.   Where can I see the student handbook?  The handbook is available on the RenWeb site which can be accessed by school families.
