The
Oklahoma Bible Academy Music Department
received
the Class 2A Grand Sweepstakes Trophy
at the 75th
Tri-State
Music Festival held in Enid May
3-5. OBA was the only school in our class to qualify for the
award. Schools are awarded points for the efforts of the band and
choir programs and must earn 500 or more points to qualify for the Grand
Sweepstakes honor.
The
7-12th Grade Concert Band and the High School Pep Band
received excellent ratings. The band
received superior ratings from all six parade judges and took 1st place
in our class in the parade contest. Four students were chosen
to perform in the Tri-State Honor Band:
Emma Grosz, Laura Grosz, Rachel Brainard, and Trey Brumley. Emma
received a $500 scholarship from Continental Resources, Inc. There were
11 superior ratings and 1 excellent rating given to individuals and
ensembles in the band. |
